MUGELLO. In what was one of the best Moto3™ race of the season, Tony Arbolino (VNE Snipers) took his first win in a frantic, hair-raising last lap slipstreaming contest with countryman Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Leopard Racing) and Spanish youngster, Jaume Masia (Bester Capital Dubai). The race, which saw over half a dozen different leaders and many hard passes, went down to the very last lap in traditional Moto3™ style.
Antonelli and Denis Foggia (SKY Racing Team VR46) completed the top five – Foggia having a relatively quiet race, but nonetheless securing good points.
John McPhee took a well-fought sixth place, ahead of Canet and Suzuki, whilst Celestino Vietti (SKY Racing Team VR46) was the first rider home from outside of the leading group, in ninth. Darryn Binder came home in tenth.

"It was an incredible weekend , I felt it would be good! In this race it was important to use the strategy; I kept the focus and I understood that being second in the last corner would be the winning choice. Thanks to everybody for the support, the public was amazing, my team excellent. For an Italian rider, winning here is something special ".
Lorenzo Dalla Porta: P2
“I’ve had a lot of fun today. I felt good from the start as I had a good pace and I could ride the way I wanted. I was fast and strong, and I could overtake many riders when it was necessary. Unfortunately, I’ve made some little mistakes at the end and I think this has jeopardized the last lap, because literally I’ve been able to do everything I needed throughout the whole race. The bike worked perfectly and probably the time we had to lose on Friday repairing it after the crash has been the trickiest thing in terms of working time. Anyway, I’m very happy because I’ve felt good and I have to say thanks to the team, to the sponsors, to my family and of course to everybody who have come to Mugello to support me”.
Jaume Masia: P3
"Amazing result for a very complicate weekend, we couldn’t expect a podium but today I had that feeling, that strenght and the entire team pushing behind me. So happy".
